Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are planning to move back to the United Kingdom later this month, according to BBC News. The couple is expected to relocate from the United States to a private, non-royal residence outside London.
Their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are also expected to begin at a British school in September. The move marks a major change for the Sussex family, who left the UK in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as working royals and later settled in California.
King Charles Informed of the Move
King Charles was reportedly informed about the family’s plans on Sunday. However, there are currently no plans for Harry or Meghan to return as working members of the Royal Family. They will continue their lives as private individuals.

The america news world reports that the King welcomes the possibility of seeing more of his son and grandchildren in a private and personal setting. Prince William and the Princess of Wales have also been informed about the planned move.
Security Could Become a Key Issue
Security arrangements are likely to remain an important question surrounding Harry’s return. The Duke has previously raised concerns about the safety of his family in Britain and lost a legal challenge last year concerning the level of security provided to him after he stopped being a working royal.
It remains unclear what security arrangements will be put in place after the family returns. A royal expert cited by the BBC suggested that some issues may have been resolved, but details about the arrangements and their cost remain uncertain.

Why the Move Matters
The planned return comes after Harry and Meghan’s visit to the UK in July, when they met King Charles at his private home. It was the first time the King had seen his grandchildren in person in more than four years.
Harry has also previously spoken about his desire for reconciliation with his family. His latest return to Britain may therefore signal a new chapter in the relationship between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, although there is no indication that Harry and Meghan intend to resume official royal duties.
The couple has not yet publicly commented on the reported move.
