Major MAGA Star Marjorie Taylor Greene Quits Congress – Effective January 5, 2026

In a bombshell that has rocked Washington and the MAGA movement, Georgia firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced Friday that she is resigning from the U.S. House of Representatives.

Her last day in office will be January 5, 2026, just two days after the new Congress is sworn in.

The 51-year-old congresswoman, once one of Donald Trump’s loudest and most loyal supporters, said the final straw was the President himself turning against her.

In a heartfelt video posted to social media, Greene explained:

“I have always been despised in Washington, D.C., and I never really fit in. But I never thought the hurt would come from the President we all fought so hard to elect.

I do not want my family, my staff, and my millions of supporters to go through a brutal, hateful primary attack paid for by the very President I helped put in office.”

She added that Republicans would probably lose the midterm fights anyway if the party keeps tearing itself apart.

The breakup with Trump went public on November 7 when the President suddenly pulled all support and called her “Wacky Marjorie.” The next day he went further on Truth Social, labeling her a “lightweight” and even a “traitor” to the Republican Party.

Greene says the attacks triggered a wave of death threats against her and her family.

At the center of the feud is Jeffrey Epstein. Greene has been one of the loudest voices demanding full transparency and justice for Epstein’s underage victims. She says standing up for “American girls who were raped and trafficked at 14 by rich and powerful men” should never make her a traitor, yet that is exactly what President Trump called her.

The timing could not be worse for Republicans. The GOP holds only a razor-thin majority in the House. When Greene leaves, that majority gets even smaller until a special election can be held in her deep-red Georgia district.

Inside MAGA world, people are choosing sides fast. Some call Greene a hero for refusing to stay silent. Others say she should have kept quiet and stayed on the team.

Either way, the split is now out in the open, and it is getting ugly.

Greene closed her video with a promise: “This is not goodbye forever. I will keep fighting for our country, just in a different way.”

For now, one of the biggest names in Trump-era politics is walking away from Congress, wounded by the man she once called “the greatest President in my lifetime.”

Only time will tell if the MAGA movement can survive this kind of friendly fire.
