It happened in Cornwall, England. On May 28, 2013. Jacob was 28 years old. He lived in Hayle. He wanted to film a whirlpool. This whirlpool was in Carnsew Pool. It was made by old tunnels from long ago. They flush sand out of the harbor. The water spins fast. It pulls things down.

Jacob put on a funny horse mask. He had a GoPro camera. His friend filmed from the side. Jacob jumped in. He swam close. The video shows him spinning around. He laughed at first. Then, the water grabbed him. He went under. He did not come back up.

His friend called for help. Rescue teams came fast. They pulled Jacob out. But it was too late. Doctors said he drowned. Tests found some drugs in his body. Like ketamine. And he had dyslexia. That might have made him judge risks wrong.

Jacob was brave. But he took big chances. In 2008, a huge wave almost killed him while surfing. He got tossed like a toy. Yet he kept going. He won awards for his photos. From places like National Geographic. He shot surfers in wild seas. He even won a trip to Antarctica. But he never went.

His family was sad. His mom said he was free and kind. His sister died young from cancer. That made him live hard. For her too. Friends remembered his smile. His crazy eyes like the ocean.

Many people watch his last video now. It warns about danger. YouTubers die doing stunts. Like in snow storms or falls from high places. Be careful out there.

Here is some data on drowning. It happens a lot. In the US, about 4,500 people drown each year from 2020 to 2022. That’s up from 4,000 in 2019. Around the world, drowning deaths fell by 38% since 2000. From 6.1 to 3.8 per 100,000 people.

Jacob’s story touches people everywhere. From Asia to Africa. North America to South America. Even Europe, Australia, and Antarctica. Kids, teens, adults, old folks. All can learn from it. Stay safe in water. for more video like this connect with america news world
