According to Disha Patani’s father, the attackers had fired about 10 to 15 rounds in quick succession.

Ghaziabad: In a dramatic turn of events, two men accused of carrying out the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s family home in Bareilly were killed in a late-night encounter with police on Wednesday. The incident, which has kept Uttar Pradesh law enforcement on high alert for the past week, is being seen as a significant breakthrough against the interstate gangster network of Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara.

Encounter in Ghaziabad

According to officials, a joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) Noida unit and the Delhi Police intercepted the suspects in Tronica City, Ghaziabad. The accused, identified as Ravindra alias Kullu and Arun, allegedly opened fire when cornered. In the retaliatory exchange, both sustained critical injuries.

Despite being rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, police later confirmed that the duo succumbed to their injuries. A statement attributed to the Delhi Police said, “Both the accused (Ravindra alias Kullu and Arun), who were injured following an encounter with the police, have succumbed to injuries.”

Law enforcement authorities recovered a glock pistol, a zigana pistol, and a large cache of cartridges from the site.

Links to Gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara

The Uttar Pradesh STF has confirmed that the slain accused were part of the infamous Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara gang, known for orchestrating extortion rackets and targeted attacks. Goldy Brar, believed to be operating from abroad, has been linked to multiple high-profile crimes, including the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.

Police officials believe the Bareilly attack was not a random act but a premeditated strike tied to the gang’s efforts to instill fear and expand its criminal influence.

The Firing Incident at Bareilly

The origins of the case date back to the early hours of September 12, when two unidentified men on a motorbike unleashed a hail of bullets outside Disha Patani’s home in Bareilly. The attack occurred around 3:30 a.m., jolting the neighborhood awake.

According to Jagdish Singh Patani, Disha’s father and a retired deputy superintendent of police, the attackers fired at least 10 to 15 rounds. “At around 3 in the morning, I woke up to the sound of dogs barking. I saw the attackers firing at our house. The pistol they used was foreign-made. Once the trigger was pressed, 10-15 rounds fired in quick succession. We were extremely scared and immediately informed the police,” he recounted.

Thankfully, no family members were injured in the assault, but the sheer brazenness of the firing raised serious questions about security in the area.

Social Media Claim of Responsibility

Soon after the incident, a chilling message surfaced on social media from an account linked to Goldy Brar’s associates. The post claimed responsibility for the attack, describing it as retaliation for allegedly “insulting” remarks made against two popular spiritual leaders, Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj.

The post further warned that the shooting was merely a “trailer,” implying that more violence could follow. By the morning of September 13, however, the threatening post was deleted, and the associated account disappeared from the platform, deepening the mystery around the gang’s true motives.

Swift Political and Police Response

The shocking attack prompted immediate intervention from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who personally reached out to Disha Patani’s father to assure him of the family’s safety. Adityanath reportedly instructed senior police officials to provide maximum protection to the actor’s relatives and to ensure that those behind the firing were swiftly brought to justice.

The Bareilly police, in collaboration with STF and central agencies, launched an intensive manhunt. The breakthrough came within days, culminating in Wednesday’s encounter in Ghaziabad.

Weapons and Gang Networks

According to Additional Director General (ADG) Law and Order Amitabh Yash, the sophisticated weapons recovered from the accused indicate the involvement of a well-financed and well-connected criminal syndicate. “A glock and a zigana pistol, along with a large quantity of cartridges, were recovered from the spot,” Yash confirmed.

Security analysts note that the gang’s access to foreign-made weapons points to cross-border smuggling channels, making it more than just a localized criminal issue.

Rising Concerns Over Celebrity Security

The incident has once again highlighted the vulnerability of high-profile personalities in India to gangster violence and extortion threats. In recent years, several celebrities—including actors, singers, and sports figures—have reported receiving threats from organized crime groups seeking money or notoriety.

For Disha Patani, a leading Bollywood actress with a rising international profile, the attack on her family home has been both shocking and personal. While the actress herself has not made a public statement, her father’s testimony underscores the fear and trauma caused by the assault.

Conclusion

With the killing of Ravindra alias Kullu and Arun, authorities in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi have scored a major success against the Goldy Brar–Rohit Godara gang. However, the incident raises larger questions about the resurgence of organized gangster networks targeting celebrities and influential families in India.

The swift police response and political backing ensured that the attackers were neutralized before they could strike again. But for the Patani family, the echoes of that night in Bareilly remain fresh, a stark reminder of how crime syndicates can target even the most well-guarded homes.

As investigations continue, law enforcement agencies are now expected to widen their net against the broader gang nexus to prevent further threats. For Bollywood, however, the encounter is a double-edged moment—justice for one family, but also a chilling reminder of the dangers that continue to lurk behind the glamor of the industry.
