In a stunning public outburst that has sent shockwaves through Washington, President Donald Trump unleashed his frustration on Attorney General Pam Bondi via Truth Social, demanding swift prosecutions against longtime political adversaries. The Saturday evening post, addressed directly to “Pam,” accused the Justice Department of stalling on cases against former FBI Director James Comey, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), and New York Attorney General Letitia James, warning that further delays are “killing our reputation and credibility.” 0 1 Trump’s unfiltered message capped a tumultuous week marked by internal DOJ shakeups and escalating calls from his base for retribution against those he blames for his past legal woes.
The post, which Trump later deleted before issuing a follow-up praise for Bondi, read in part: “Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, ‘same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam ’Shifty’ Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.” 2 He continued, slamming a recent DOJ appointment in Virginia as a “Woke RINO” who “was never going to do his job,” referencing Erik Siebert, the U.S. Attorney overseeing a criminal mortgage fraud probe into James. Siebert resigned amid pressure from Trump allies after reportedly resisting aggressive pursuit of the case, according to Reuters. 0
Trump’s ire didn’t stop there. He name-dropped Lindsey Halligan, a Special Assistant to the President tasked earlier this year with collaborating on Vice President JD Vance’s initiative to “Restore Truth and Sanity to American History” at the Smithsonian Institution. “Lindsey Halligan is a really good lawyer, and likes you, a lot. We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility,” Trump wrote, hinting at her potential role in the James investigation. 3 The post concluded with a thunderous all-caps declaration: “They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!! President DJT.” 4
This isn’t the first sign of tension within Trump’s inner circle. Bondi, a staunch Trump loyalist who served as his impeachment defense lawyer in 2020, was confirmed as AG in a narrow Senate vote earlier this year amid promises of draining the “deep state.” Yet, eight months into her tenure, high-profile accountability has been elusive. Comey, fired by Trump in 2017 and later criticized for his role in the Russia investigation, faces no active federal charges. Schiff, a vocal Trump critic impeached twice over Ukraine and January 6 matters, has dodged indictments despite Republican vows of reprisal. James, who spearheaded the New York civil fraud case against Trump resulting in a $454 million judgment (currently under appeal), has been a prime target for retaliation. 6
The Virginia angle adds fuel to the fire. Siebert’s ouster followed reports that two Democratic senators pushed his nomination, viewing him as a moderate Republican. Trump fired him outright, dismissing media claims of a voluntary resignation: “No, I fired him, and there is a GREAT CASE, and many lawyers, and legal pundits, say so.” 5 In a rapid pivot, Trump announced plans to nominate Halligan as the new U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, a jurisdiction key to federal probes involving Trump’s foes. “She will be Fair, Smart, and will provide, desperately needed, JUSTICE FOR ALL!” he posted in a follow-up, while insisting Bondi is “doing a GREAT job” and is “very careful, very smart.” 1 8
Speculation exploded online about the original post’s intent. Was it a deliberate public whip or an accidental leak? “Did… did Trump try and DM Pam Bondi, and somehow end up making it a public Truth Social post?” one X user quipped, echoing theories from Agenda-Free TV founder Steve Lookner. 2 Another speculated, “There is some speculation that Trump accidentally posted what was supposed to be a DM to Pam Bondi as a regular post on Truth Social.” 5 Despite claims from some outlets that it was scrubbed, the message remained visible on Trump’s feed as of Sunday morning. 2
Reactions poured in from across the political spectrum, amplifying the buzz. Trump’s MAGA base largely cheered the pressure as overdue. “If President Trump is publicly calling Bondi out, then it’s likely already over for her,” one X poster declared. Catturd, a prominent conservative voice with over 2 million followers, vented: “I can’t take it anymore. I hope Trump just fires Pam Bondi and gets somebody who understands the mission. We have a country to save. We have no more time for this weakness.” Another user exclaimed, “It is go time! Bondi has been warned!” Supporters like @BrandoRepublic hailed it as a breakthrough: “Maybe now we will finally see some arrests. 💪🏻🇺🇸,” garnering thousands of likes.
Critics, however, decried it as authoritarian overreach. Former State Department spokesman Ned Price tallied the day’s events on X, including the DOJ’s closure of a probe into Trump’s border czar and Pentagon threats against journalists, labeling it all “so dangerous and corrosive to our democracy.” @hissgoescobra called it a “brazen effort to prosecute innocent people for political reasons. Textbook impeachable offense.” Lara Logan, a Trump ally turned skeptic, suggested it’s a “shaping operation” – strategic positioning for bigger moves – but lamented the lack of action from Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel. Even some conservatives expressed doubt; @AppleC648030 blasted Bondi defenders: “PAM BONDI NEEDS TO GO!”
The episode underscores deeper fissures in Trump’s second-term apparatus. Bondi’s cautious approach – praised by Trump as “very careful” – contrasts with the president’s appetite for rapid-fire vengeance. Legal experts warn that weaponizing the DOJ risks ethical breaches and court reversals. “This raises questions about political influence on justice,” noted one analyst, echoing concerns from Reuters and The New York Times. 0 Trump amplified the drama in a Saturday night gaggle with reporters, insisting the post wasn’t criticism but a call to “act fast.” 0
As the dust settles, eyes are on Bondi’s next steps. Will Halligan’s nomination accelerate probes? Or does this signal Bondi’s twilight? Trump’s base demands results, while opponents brace for a politicized DOJ. In Trump’s America, justice isn’t blind – it’s laser-focused. One thing’s clear: the wait for “NOW!!!” is over. Or is it
