DALTONGANJ, India – Three young men are missing and feared drowned in the Sone River near Pokhrahi village in Palamu district, Jharkhand.
The incident happened on Sunday when seven friends went to the river to bathe. Four of them made it safely back to the bank. The other three could not be saved and their bodies have not been found yet.
Sub-divisional police officer S Mohammad Yakub said the accident did not take place at any Chhath festival spot. “There is no Chhath ghat in that area,” he added.
Local divers are searching the river to recover the bodies.
Police are investigating the case.
