He told folks to “stick to the facts.” Sliwa said it’s wrong to attack Mamdani’s roots or faith. Look at his plans, not who he is, Sliwa said on Special Report on July 7, 2025. His call for nice talk is not like the loud fights from both sides.On the other hand, Mamdani’s supporters argue his focus on affordability resonates with struggling New Yorkers. His campaign’s social media presence, backed by endorsements from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders, has drawn a multiracial coalition, especially in Asian and Hispanic neighborhoods. For instance, Mamdani won 80% of the vote in Ridgewood, Queens, and 79% in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Yet, he struggled in low-income Black neighborhoods like Brownsville, where Cuomo led with 51% support.

This internal GOP friction could weaken their stance against Mamdani.
