Russian missile attack Ukraine happened overnight. Forces from Russia sent more than 500 drones and missiles at the country. This big strike aimed at the west part of Ukraine. Kyiv said it was one of the largest attacks yet. The air force noted 502 drones and 24 missiles in total. Three missiles and 69 drones got through and hit spots. Debris from shot-down ones fell in 14 places too.
People got hurt in this mess. Regional leaders in the west said several folks were wounded. Homes for living and other buildings took damage. Power went out for thousands in some areas like Khmelnytskyi and Lutsk. Fires broke out from the hits. Emergency teams worked hard to fix things. One woman died in Zaporizhzhia from the blasts. Over 30 people got injuries including kids.
Ukraine’s air defense did a good job. They downed 430 drones, 14 Kalibr missiles, and 7 Kh-101 missiles. But the attack still caused harm. President Zelenskyy called it a show of Russia’s bold moves. He said Putin wants to prove he can act without fear. Zelenskyy asked for more help from the world. He plans talks with Nordic and Baltic leaders in Denmark. Later he meets in France for more plans.
This strike came as Putin went to a big parade in China. It shows talks for peace are stuck. Russia says all targets were hit but we can’t check that yet. Ukraine hit back with drones on Russian oil spots in Krasnodar and Syzran. Explosions and fires happened there.
Data from the attack: Russia used 502 Shahed drones and imitators plus 24 missiles. Hits were in 14 locations with debris in another 14. Here’s a simple bar graph of the attack types:

The war drags on since 2022. Russia holds about 20% of Ukraine. Millions fled homes. Food prices rose worldwide from blocked ships. For folks in India and USA, this matters for oil costs and safety ties. Young readers, think of it as bullies not stopping without push back. Older ones see echoes of past wars.
Ukraine needs strong steps now. Pressure on Russia’s economy can help end this. We wait for world leaders to act.
