Nikita Casap: Wisconsin Teen Charged with Parents’ Murder in Alleged Plot to Assassinate Donald Trump

A chilling case has emerged from Waukesha County, Wisconsin, where 17-year-old Nikita Casap faces charges for allegedly murdering his parents as part of a broader scheme to assassinate President Donald Trump and overthrow the U.S. government. Federal authorities, including the FBI, have uncovered disturbing details about Casap’s extremist affiliations and plans, raising alarms about domestic terrorism.

The Alleged Crime: A Double Homicide with a Sinister Motive

On February 28, 2025, the bodies of Tatiana Casap, 35, and Donald Mayer, 51, were discovered in their Waukesha home after a welfare check prompted by Mayer’s absence from work and Nikita’s prolonged absence from school. Authorities believe the couple was fatally shot on February 11, with their bodies left decomposing for weeks. Prosecutors noted that the remains were so deteriorated that dental records were required for identification.

Nikita Casap, arrested in Kansas on February 28, was found driving his stepfather’s 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Inside the vehicle, police recovered $14,000 in cash (much of it hidden in a Bible), over $14,000 worth of jewelry, a pried-open safe, a .357 Magnum revolver registered to Mayer, and the family dog. Casap also had the couple’s passports and credit cards, pointing to a calculated attempt to flee.

Waukesha County authorities have charged Casap with nine felony counts, including:

  • Two counts of first-degree intentional homicide
  • Two counts of hiding a corpse
  • Theft of property over $10,000
  • Two counts of identity theft for financial gain
  • Operating a motor vehicle without consent

Federal investigators are pursuing additional charges, including conspiracy, presidential assassination, and use of weapons of mass destruction, according to an FBI affidavit unsealed on April 11, 2025.

A Disturbing Plot to Assassinate Trump

The FBI’s investigation revealed that Casap’s alleged murder of his parents was motivated by a desire to secure “financial means and autonomy” to execute a larger plan: assassinating President Donald Trump to spark a political revolution. A three-page manifesto found on Casap’s phone outlined his extremist views, including antisemitic rhetoric and praise for Adolf Hitler, with phrases like “HAIL HITLER HAIL THE WHITE RACE HAIL VICTORY.”

The manifesto explicitly targeted Trump, stating, “As to why, specifically Trump, I think it’s obvious. By getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president, that is guaranteed to bring in some chaos.” Casap believed such an act would destabilize the government and advance his white supremacist ideology, which he tied to “saving the white race” from what he described as “Jewish-controlled” politicians.

Casap’s phone also contained material linked to the Order of Nine Angles, a neo-Nazi extremist group known for advocating violence and terrorism to dismantle modern society. Investigators found communications on TikTok and Telegram, including discussions about purchasing a drone and explosives for a potential attack. One message referenced an “attack drone” designed to drop a bomb laden with “nuts, bolts, and needles.”

Connections to Extremism and Plans to Flee

The FBI affidavit detailed Casap’s interactions with others, including a Russian speaker with whom he discussed fleeing to Ukraine. In a Telegram message, Casap asked, “So while in Ukraine, I’ll be able to live a normal life? Even when it’s found out I did it?” He also reportedly told a classmate he was in contact with someone in Russia, planning to overthrow the U.S. government alongside the assassination plot.

Casap shared his intentions with at least one classmate, admitting he planned to kill his parents but lacked a gun. He later claimed he would “befriend someone with a gun and steal it,” according to the affidavit. The classmate also reported receiving Snapchat videos from Casap featuring “gory and war images” set to Russian music, further highlighting his radicalization.

Legal Proceedings and Defense

Casap, currently held at Waukesha County Jail on a $1 million bond, appeared in court on April 9, 2025, for a preliminary hearing but has not yet entered a plea. His next court date is an arraignment scheduled for May 7, 2025. His public defender, Nicole Ostrowski, has moved to dismiss some charges, including theft, arguing that prosecutors have not fully substantiated their case. Ostrowski also emphasized Casap’s youth, noting, “He is young. He is still in high school.”

A Case Raising National Concerns

The Nikita Casap case underscores the growing threat of domestic extremism, particularly among young individuals radicalized through online platforms. The FBI’s discovery of Casap’s ties to the Order of Nine Angles and his detailed plans to target a high-profile figure like Trump has intensified scrutiny on how extremist ideologies spread and inspire violence.

As the legal process unfolds, questions remain about the extent of Casap’s network, the role of his online contacts, and how authorities can prevent similar plots in the future. For now, Waukesha County and the nation watch closely as this disturbing case moves forward.
