Israel has approved a plan to take full military control of Gaza City. This decision came from the country’s security cabinet on Friday. Many people around the world are upset about it. They say it could make things worse in Gaza.

First, let’s look at why this is happening. Israel says it needs to control the area for security reasons. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News that they want a “security perimeter.” But he added they do not plan to govern the people there. However, critics argue this is just a step toward full occupation and maybe even pushing Palestinians out.

The plan follows months of fighting. It started after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. That attack killed about 1,200 people and took 251 hostages. Since then, Israel’s response has been strong. According to Gaza’s health ministry, over 61,430 Palestinians have died. Another 153,213 are hurt. Many are women and children. Moreover, experts say the real number could be higher because some bodies are still under rubble.

Now, with this occupation, things might get even harder. Palestinians in Gaza City have already faced bombs, starvation, and no homes. The United Nations warns that taking over the city could start “another horrific chapter” in the conflict. For example, aid groups say only 69 trucks of help entered Gaza each day in August 2024. Before the war, it was 500 trucks daily. That means food and medicine are scarce. As a result, at least 212 people have died from hunger alone.

In addition, journalists are in danger. Israel killed five Al Jazeera reporters on Sunday. They were Anas al-Sharif, Mohammed Qreiqeh, Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa. This happened near al-Shifa Hospital in a media tent. Since October 2023, at least 186 journalists have died in Gaza, says the Committee to Protect Journalists. Many believe Israel targets them to hide what is going on. After all, foreign reporters are banned from entering freely.

But why now? Some say Israel wants to clean up evidence of war crimes before the world sees. Ahmad Ibsais, a Palestinian American law student, wrote in Al Jazeera that this is like a murderer returning to the scene. He points out that Israel has buried bodies in mass graves and planted fake evidence before. Furthermore, this fits a long pattern. Since 1948, Israel has built over ruined Palestinian villages.

Countries are speaking out. China calls it wrong and pushes for a two-state solution. France’s President Emmanuel Macron says it leads to “permanent war.” Even Australia urges Israel to stop. Their Foreign Minister Penny Wong says it will worsen the crisis. In the US, some Republicans question the plan too. But Democrats like Rep. Pete Aguilar stay quiet.

Meanwhile, protests grow. In Israel, thousands marched in Tel Aviv against it. On X, people share stories of loss. One post said, “Gaza belongs to Palestinians.” Another called it “extermination” of truth-tellers.

To show the scale, here is some data. The death toll has climbed fast.

Next, a graph highlights the rise. Graph description: A line graph showing cumulative death toll in Gaza from Oct 2023 to Aug 2025, rising sharply from 2,000 to over 61,000. The line goes up with markers at each month, titled “Gaza Death Toll Over Time.” X-axis is months, Y-axis is deaths. It has a grid for easy reading.

What about peace? Many say a two-state solution is key. That means Israel and Palestine living side by side. But with occupation, it seems far away. India, with ties to both sides, could play a role. As a big country, India’s voice on global peace matters. People in India search a lot about this conflict, wanting fair news. Kids and adults alike need to know the facts. This war hurts everyone – families lose homes, kids miss school. Over 88% of schools in Gaza are damaged. Aid must flow freely. Yet, Israel blocks much of it.

In short, this occupation could lead to more death and no return for Palestinians. The world must act. Stop the fighting, send help, and talk peace. As one expert said, “Never again” should mean no more genocide.
