A big explosion happened by mistake at a police station in Srinagar, India. It killed nine people and injured 27 others. Most of the hurt were police officers and experts who check evidence. This sad event took place late on Friday night.

The blast was at Nowgam police station. Workers were taking small samples from a huge pile of explosives. These explosives came from a case linked to terror plans. Police had seized 360 kilograms of dangerous materials from a house in Faridabad, Haryana.
The materials included chemicals like ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate, and sulphur. They were part of a plan by a group called a “white-collar” terror module. This means educated people, like doctors, were involved in secret terror acts.
Eight people died right away, and one more later. Six bodies were pulled from the rubble. They are still trying to identify who they are. The bodies went to a police control room in Srinagar.
Twenty-four police workers and three normal people went to hospitals in the city. The big boom broke the quiet night and damaged the police station building a lot. Small blasts kept happening after, so rescue teams could not go in fast. Bomb experts had to wait.
Most of the explosives were stored at the police station. Some were at a police lab for tests. The main case started here.
The story began in mid-October. Threat posters appeared on walls in Bunpora, Nowgam area. They warned police and security forces. Srinagar police took it seriously. They opened a case on October 19 and made a special team.
The team checked CCTV videos frame by frame. This helped find the first three suspects. Their names are Arif Nisar Dar (also called Sahil), Yasir-ul-Ashraf, and Maqsood Ahmad Dar (also called Shahid). These men had old cases of throwing stones. Police saw them putting up the posters.
Questioning them led to more arrests. Next was Maulvi Irfan Ahmad. He was a former medical helper who became a preacher from Shopian. He gave the posters and may have made the doctors think in extreme ways. He knew many in the medical field.
The clues took police to Al Falah University in Faridabad. There, they caught Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie and Dr. Shaheen Sayeed. That is where they found the big pile of explosives in a rented home of the arrested doctor.
Police think three main doctors ran the group. Dr. Muzammil Ganaie is arrested. Umar Nabi drove a car full of explosives that blew up near the Red Fort on November 10. Dr. Muzzaffar Rather is still hiding.
One more person is arrested: Dr. Adeel Rather. He is the brother of the hiding doctor. Police found an AK-56 rifle with him. They are still checking his role.
This blast shows how dangerous handling explosives can be. It happened while trying to solve a big terror case. The police were working hard to stop threats. But the accident caused loss of life and pain to many families.
