In a proud moment for Indian hospitality, three luxury hotels located in Rajasthan have earned spots on the inaugural “51–100 Extended List” of the prestigious The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 awards. The list, released by the 50 Best organisation on October 14, 2025, recognises outstanding properties around the world ranked from 51st to 100th, complementing the main top-50 to broaden the celebration of excellence in hospitality.
The three Indian properties — all located in the state of Rajasthan — secured the following positions:
Suján Jawai in Jawai: ranked 91st.
The Johri in Jaipur: ranked 93rd.
Amanbagh in Ajabgarh: ranked 100th.
A New Era in Global Hotel Rankings
The 2025 edition marks the first time the 50 Best Hotels list has been extended to cover positions 51 through 100, thereby providing recognition to a broader field of exceptional accommodation worldwide. The organisation behind the list emphasises that the selection criteria focus on a hotel’s creativity, character and overall guest experience.
With 24 territories and 40 cities represented in the list, the inclusion of three Indian properties underscores the rising global competitiveness of India’s luxury-hospitality segment and the growing prominence of Rajasthan as a destination of world-class stays.
The final announcement of the top 50 (i.e., ranks 1–50) for the 2025 awards is scheduled to take place at a live ceremony in London on October 30, thus completing the full rankings of the world’s top hotels.
Spotlight on the Indian Properties
Suján Jawai – Rank 91

Set in the wild granite hills and scrublands of Jawai Bandh, Suján Jawai offers a timeless wilderness experience blended with luxury. Guests at this property can expect guided drives in prime leopard-territory, immersive nature stays, and food rooted in the local produce of the region.
The camp-style suites — discreet, well-integrated into the environment — lend a refined yet authentic touch to the safari escape. With its conservation ethos, tailored guest experiences and location off the beaten track, the property exemplifies why the 50 Best academy recognised it.
The Johri – Rank 93

In the heart of Jaipur’s historic Johri Bazaar stands The Johri, a boutique hotel created from a restored 19th-century haveli. Each of its five suites is themed after a gemstone — ruby, sapphire, pearl, etc. — and is designed by New York-based designer Naina Shah.
Its sophisticated blending of Rajasthani heritage architecture, local craft and urban boutique luxury in a lively heritage setting gave it the edge in this global ranking. The Johri offers a compelling alternative for guests seeking design, history and authenticity in an urban yet historic setting.
Amanbagh – Rank 100

Nestled in the Aravalli Hills in Ajabgarh, Amanbagh is a heritage palace-style resort characterised by rose-hued domes, high vaulted entrances and Mughal-inspired architecture. The property once served as the hunting base of the Maharajah of Alwar.
Today, it delivers serene luxury, Ayurvedic and Rajasthani-inspired cuisine, and a secluded oasis feel. Its recognition at rank 100 reaffirms the global appeal of Indian heritage-luxury and the value international travelers place on immersive culture and tranquillity.
What This Means for India & Rajasthan
The achievement of three Indian hotels in a globally recognised top 100 list carries several implications:
Global validation of Indian luxury-hospitality. The inclusion signals that Indian properties are being judged — and ranking — among the world’s finest, not simply regionally.
Rajasthan’s elevation as a luxury-destination hub. All three hotels are located in Rajasthan, underscoring the state’s strong brand in cultural tourism, heritage architecture and premium wilderness/luxury lodges.
Encouraging signs for investment & development. For hoteliers, travel-brands and destination-developers in India, the listing may help catalyse further investment, improvements in global-standard guest experience, and increased international visibility.
Potential uptick in premium travel segments. For discerning global travellers (and India’s affluent domestic travellers), the recognition may steer more interest toward these distinguished stays and the regions they inhabit.
Looking Ahead
While these three hotels have achieved global recognition via the extended list, all eyes now turn to the top 50 ceremony on October 30 in London — when the ultimate rankings for 2025 will be revealed. It remains to be seen whether any Indian properties will break into that elite top 50.
For travellers and India-destination marketers alike, the message is clear: India’s luxury-hospitality sector continues to gain momentum and credibility on the global stage. Whether seeking wildlife and wilderness (as at Suján Jawai), heritage boutique urban stays (as at The Johri), or secluded palace luxury (as at Amanbagh) — India and especially Rajasthan are offering experiences that now measure up to international benchmarks.
